Circuit de Charade

The Circuit de Charade is located near Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme department of Auvergne in central France. Built in 1957 around the base of an extinct volcano, it was known for its challenging layout that favored the most skilled drivers and motorcyclists. It hosted the French Formula One Grand Prix four times (1965, 1969, 1970, 1972) and the French motorcycle Grand Prix 10 times (between 1959 and 1974).

Stirling Moss once said of it, “I don't know a more wonderful track than Charade.”

The last race on the original 8.055 m long circuit was held in 1988.
A year later, the new - current - 3.975-m-long circuit was opened, using only the southern part of the original layout.

Jim Clark programme

Standard with your booking is the Classic Racing School's Jim Clark program, for one person per sportscar enrolled.
If you have a co-driver who would also like to follow this program, you can click on it during your booking. Cost: 1.990 €.

Driving on Track

• 2 groups of 9 pilots | 13 Crosslé single-seaters @ our disposal
• Go Pro on board each single-seater for on-board footage
• 2 mechanics | 6 general staff | 1 photographer

Assitance enough, you are the pilot!

• Two hours of track driving per participant, divided into six sessions
• Coaching by 4 professional instructors between driving sessions

• Breakfast - Lunch - Aperitif in the Paddock / Box / Lounge of the Classic Racing School
• No otheer cars on the track all day
• Everyone receives an FIA approved retro suit, undersuit, helmet, gloves and shoes

Companion Package

The companion package is optionally available for co-drivers who do not choose the Jim Clark program.
This can be clicked on when booking and costs 70 €.

A variety of activities are available throughout the day.

As a co-driver, you can also opt for a track baptism aboard the Crosslé 9S.
This can also be clicked when booking the event. Price: 150 €.

If you want to make the most of it as a co-driver, then this combined package is the best choice.
Clicking this option when booking costs 180 € (or 40 € discount on both things separately).

• Additional Insurance

With the standard insurance included, there is an 8.000 € deposit for those following the Jim Clark programme.
This is the maximum amount you lose should you crash the car heavily.
This appears to have only happened once since the school's inception in 2017.
In case of damage, only the real cost of the reparation will be charged from your caution.

Nevertheless, you can opt for an additional insurance, which lowers the deposit to 3.000 €.
